 The St Andrews Community Trust met on 5 October 2016 when the trustees made thirteen awards totalling £42,353. Four awards were to new applicants
The St Andrews Community Trust made thirteen awards and distributed £42,353 to local organisations at its latest meeting. St Andrews Community Trust has now distributed £425,962 in support of 152 projects for 90 organisations and groups in St Andrews and surrounding areas since it was set up in 2011.

 

The purpose of the Trust is to distribute funds generated through protecting the trademark of the Town Crest of the Royal Burgh of St Andrews. Funds are allocated to clubs, charitable organisations and good causes in and around the town. 

 

The Chairman, Arthur Griffiths, said the Trustees are pleased to announce the following awards to local organisations:-

 

£8,704 to Strathkinness Community Trust towards costs of developing the Magus Muir Community Wood,

£2,500 to the Cosmos Centre towards the cost of essential upgrades for Fire Safety,

£848 to St Andrews Arts Club towards the cost of installing energy efficient lighting,

£10,800 to St Andrews Tennis Club towards the cost of providing an accessible toilet block and office space,

£4,000 to Kinburn All Together towards the cost of developing the Kinburn Park Play Area,

£1,000 to Madras College Footbal Team towards the cost of a new kit, 

£300 to Strathkinness Playgroup towards the cost of resourcing monthly topics,

£505 to Support in Mind Scotland towards the cost of St Andrews Community Group,

£2,050 to Madras FP Ladies Hockey Club towards the cost of development and participation in hockey

£150 to St Andrews Girls Brigade towards the cost of a St Andrews night Ceilidh,

£5,000 to City of St Andrews Pipe Band towards the cost of tuition, venue hire and replacemeny equipment,

£2,500 to Virtual Open Worlds Group towards the cost of the project Rediscovering Sixteenth Century St Andrews and

£4,000 to Rymonth (Jura) Dementia Unit towards the cost of purchasing a tracking hoist

 

The Community Trust will not normally fund the same project year on year but applications for different projects by the same organisation will be considered.

 

The next meeting of the trust will be on 7th February 2017 and the closing date for applications for consideration at this meeting will be 17 January 2017.
