Press Release Post 21st October 2014 Trustees' Meeting - 30/10/2014

At its latest meeting, the St Andrews Community Trust made eight awards and distributed £26,000 to local organisations. The purpose of the Trust is to distribute funds generated through protecting the trademark of the Town Crest of the Royal Burgh of St Andrews. Funds are allocated to clubs, charitable organisations and good causes in and around the town.


The Chairman, Arthur Griffiths, said the Trustees are pleased to announce the following awards to local organisations:-


£10,000 to Riding for the Disabled towards the cost of purchasing new equipment and horses

£1,000 to Madras Community Dance towards the cost of audio equipment and examination outfits

£3,000 All Saints Episcopal Church to upgrade pathways

£1,000 to the James Gregory Project towards the cost of extending the Gregory Line

£5,000 to Madras College FP Rugby Club towards the cost of refurbishing the kitchen and toilets

£1,500 towards the Community Council Senior Citizens Treat

£2,500 to the City of St Andrews Pipe Band towards the cost of room hire

And £2,000 to Strathkinness Play Group towards the cost of playground equipment.


The next meeting of the trust will be on 10th February 2015 and the closing date for applications for consideration at this meeting will be 20 January 2015.
